About Me

Hi, I'm max. I'm currently <redacted> years old and live in Germany.

Skills

My skills mostly span through software development and I have not had a lot of exposure with hardware, although this is changing currently as I am getting more and more into embedded development.

I spend most of my time in C(++) and Kotlin, sometimes python, but I like to try out different languages from time to time such as Haskell, Rust and Zig.

I enjoy tinkering with electronics such as ESP, Raspberry Pi Pico, Arduinos and others. I also like to experiment with my Homelab and getting my feet wet with (Sys|Dev)Ops.

My programming career started with me developing Minecraft plugins in Java (I still do that, although in Kotlin), but I moved on to creating pet projects for personal enjoyment (coined recreational programming) most of my time.

Setup

Computer

I use a MSI gaming pc of some sort as my main machine (although I rarely use it for gaming), to which I owe the pretty great compile times I usually have. This machine runs linux (Arch at the moment), as do all my machines except one because I need some windows-only functionality (no, Wine is not an option).

For working on the go have and old Macbook Air 2015 which runs Arch linux. It does it's job just fine and has a nice feel.

Peripherals

My keyboard is a Logitech MX Keys, but I plan to create my own split ortholinear keyboard soon.

I use a Logitech G Pro as my mouse, which is, as expected for the price, a very nice one.

Ethics

I follow the hacker ethics as defined by the CCC

Access to computers should be unlimited and total.
All information should be free.
Mistrust authorities - promote decentralization.
Hackers should be judged by their acting, not bogus criteria auch as looks, age, degrees, race or position.
You can create art and beauty on a computer
Computers can change your life for the better.
Don't litter other people's data.
Use public data, protect private data.
